You do realize the stability you're referring to is mostly by governement manipulation right? Fiat can have downfalls, look at Venezuela (iirc) inflation and how locals prefer BTC over their own currency. You're not going to get an a stable unregulated fiat.. I don't know if that's possible. Even the US dollar is down 2% just these couple weeks into the new year and down 10% for last year. We're going to cycle into another little recession at some point.. Economies with a strong middle class tend to do well... USA needs that again. We're not a post-scarcity species yet... and until then we're going to be dealing with these same stupid problems related to controlling the process of exchanging value. Imo.
