Daily Headphone Purchase Advice thread (2016-06-27)

Hey everybody, my current headphones just broke and I was looking for a more educated opinion than my own for my next purchase. Budget: <100$ Can go over if absolutely necessary Source: 3.5mm jack, USB, idk, using it for my desktop to game, watch anime, and listen to music Isolation: My previous headphones seemed to isolate sound pretty well but I think that's because they just cupped my ears well, good amount of isolation to focus on in game sounds i guess? Public Use: Quiet listening for campus library studying, noise leaking shouldn't be a problem for such low volume? Build Type: Looking for full-sized, circumaural headphones, a built in mic would be really good Tones: No preference, but really just looking for directional sound to hear people walking around me in games, things like that (isn't that the Dolby 7.1 thing?). Past Headphones: My previous headphones were Razer Tiamat 2.2 and the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset and what I like about the Tiamat 2.2 was the band that went across the top of your head to form with any size of head, rotating ear cups were good but also my downfall for them (they snapped at the point of rotation so one of them just dangled from the rest of the build by the cord), prefer leatherette ear cushions over velour (that's why tiamat seemed to keep ears cooler than Fatality headset), the braided cable was a big plus since this is the first time any of my headphones have broken from something other than frayed wires around the jack or headphones themselves. As for the Fatality headset it got too hot around the ears and and the cushion around the top band wasn't very comfortable, the sound quality was less than my Tiamat but there's a big price difference there, the mic was also much better on the Tiamat.

I heard HyperX headsets are pretty good just from what I've read on generic top gaming headset sort of articles

I hope I am not looking for too much in a pair of headphones for the budget I've given, future thanks for the responses
