Daily Routine Help & Troubleshooting, ELI5, and Questions: March 06, 2015

Hi! I have sensitive-yet-oily-to-combination skin. I break out mostly on my chin/jaw line but I also tend to break out on the sides of my nose and on my forehead. I'm almost 38 (?!?) but my main concern is really still acne. My dad has rosacea and I've noticed that I tend to get very red in the nose and cheeks, so I'm keeping an eye out for further rosacea symptoms.

My current morning skin care routine looks something like:

  • Wash with Olay Foaming Sensitive or Acne.org cleanser
  • Wait five minutes
  • Use red box Stridex pad
  • Wait five minutes
  • (Optional) If feeling dry, use Cerave PM
  • (Optional) wait five minutes
  • Use 1/4 tsp Vanicream SPF 30
  • Wait ten minutes
  • Powder with Aromaleigh Porcelaine
  • Apply either NARS tinted moisturizer or Wet 'n' Wild coverall to kill the worst of the zinc pallor

Evening skin care routine:

  • OCM with blend of castor oil/sunflower oil/cromollient or polysorbate 80
  • Wipe off lightly with microfiber or baby washcloth
  • Wash with Olay Foaming Sensitive or Acne.org cleanser
  • Wipe off lightly with microfiber or baby cloth
  • Wait fifteen to twenty minutes
  • Apply very large pea of Differin gel
  • Wait fifteen to twenty minutes
  • Spray face with distilled water
  • Apply Cerave PM, with added Cerave in tub if face feels dry

I have a C serum but I'm not sure where I ought to be using it. I use BP from time to time, and occasionally I use Mario Badescue's glycolic foaming cleanser instead of my regular cleansers. I think my routine is pretty solid but could use more in the way of anti-oxidants/nourishment. I'm hesitant to use anything heavily hydrating since that usually breaks me out. Anything heavily exfoliating will also break me out. I'm more comfortable with physical sunscreens because they tend to be better for sensitive skin and they don't break down over time as badly. (I'm very lazy about reapplying product.)

I've been eyeing Innisfree's Green Tea Balancing Lotion and the Hada Labo Gokujyun Moist Lotion, but I think if I have one I probably don't need the other. Is that right? I'm also interested in the Benton Snail Bee Essence stuff.

Suggestions, tips, comments, complaints, compliments?
