In the "article" TPM comes across as a grounded, middle of the road Democrat. I don't know her, but she seems pretty grounded from all that I have read about her.

But what I find amusing is that the "article" mentions she ran track "at a Pac 10 school". FYI, that school was the University of Spoiled Children, commonly known as the private, very liberal and ridiculously expensive USC in Los Angeles.

Why would a specific mention of USC be left OUT of the "article"? Maybe that nobody cares where she went to school? Why then a specific mention of University of Idaho for law school? Hmm. Maybe a shameful play of the "Idaho is me" draw and to avoid the inference of a connection to rich southern California liberals.
