Detroit, proposal p, and "the corporation company"

This whole thing is such a mess. Prop P might not even end up on the ballot by August despite already being printed on absentee ballots. And with the legal calamity happening behind the scenes, the ballot doesn't make clear which draft of the proposal you're actually voting for.

Then there's the way the ballot phrases the vote: "Shall the City of Detroit Home Rule Charter proposed by the Detroit Charter Revision Commission be adopted?"

I understand that it wouldn't be possible to include the text of the whole proposal on the ballot itself, and that there are (somewhat) easy-to-find copies of the complete proposal text, but to OP's point, I'm young, comfortable using the internet, and pretty tuned into the political happenings in and around the city. Asking voters "Do you want the changes proposed by the change-making group to be adopted" doesn't feel good enough, especially (again) considering it's not clear (and not even currently known!) which version of the proposal you're voting for.

I support everything that's in Proposal P (both drafts, actually), and I'm not even opposed to the maneuver of jamming through big change by means of amending the city's charter. I plan to vote Yes. But, like a streetcar or routine rainstorm, the whole thing has become a mess now that it's met our bizarroland civic apparatus.
