Legitimately, a family was having a cook out two years ago and me and boyfriend asked if we could use the grill when they were done (we had a little package of sausage/meat we bought at eastern market)- they said “if that’s all you got just come eat our food! We got plenty!” I have spent upwards of $200 at places, and it wasn’t as good as the food this family made! It was so incredibly generous of them invite two randos to their cook out ☺️! We tried to give them money, they wouldn’t take it.

My point - find some cook out at a church or community or something in deep Detroit, it will be better than anything you could pay for - and the money will go right to a good source.

We still talk about that family and how nice and generous they were during COVID 2020, and BLM. They really didn’t need to talk to use and be so kind and generous. ♥️
