[Discussion] the potential horizon

The worst thing I've seen happen to anyone in VRChat is someone got incredibly sick after getting on a ride in the amusement park world. They had to take their headset off and we're gasping for breath. It was really scary to witness but that's something that could have happened in any other VR game where there's extreme motion. VR in itself can be dangerous but I think it mostly comes down to user responsibility. Don't take on anything you can't handle and have outside cues to alert you if anything happens IRL like smoke detectors for fires and an alarm system for intrusion. If nothing else, have someone else around if necessary. Personally, I think there will be some true horror stories that will eventually happen with VR but that's true of many things in life (like that pedestrian that got killed by an autonomous car).
