(DISCUSSION) Which player is overrated in this years draft? and Which player will we talk about as a steal when it's all said and done.

As far as Ajayi goes, yeah, he does bounce outside too much, but he's perfect for a zone blocking scheme, which is what the Falcons run now.

People said the same thing you're saying about Arie Kouandjio about Larry Warford and Gabe Jackson. They're power players and steadfast in pass pro.

Marpet has the best tape of any guard prospect, the only question about him coming into the senior bowl was if he'd be able to hold up against better competition. He proceeded to show up at the senior bowl and out-perform every single other offensive lineman there, including guys being touted as first rounders like La'El Collins and TJ Clemmings, and guards projected to be drafted higher than him, like Laken Tomlinson and Tre' Jackson. So now he's proven that he's able to hold up against top competition. So then what does he do? Blows up the combine. He's literally done everything that anybody could have asked from him to improve his draft stock and frankly I think it's ridiculous that people like you are still doubting him.

Overrated:

Leonard Williams isn't as impressive as Star Lotulelei was, has a worse first step, isn't as good at getting off blocks, and Lotulelei dropped to the teens. Why should Williams be a top 5 lock?

Dante Fowler lacks anything elite. He's good at everything, but not great at anything, and a majority of his best tape is against lesser opponents like Kentucky and ECU. He struggled against La'El Collins, which is telling because Collins' entire athletic profile fits a guard in the NFL, not an elite left tackle.

Marcus Mariota isn't a good QB prospect. At all. He's all numbers, no substance. He's fast, put up gaudy numbers, and is good at keeping his eyes down field when he rolls out, but those are the only really superb qualities about him. He's going to struggle to learn an NFL offense, he's not nearly accurate enough on tight window throws when his target isn't wide open, and he gets happy feet when pressured consistently. Teams that know how to contain rushing QBs will dominate him in the NFL because he still hasn't learned how to play from the pocket and it's going to be a long ass learning process before he does.

Randy Gregory is, relative to his height, light enough to play safety. That said though, he's barely even athletic enough to be a stand up LBer in the NFL. He has 16.5 career sacks at Nebraska, doesn't have a great first step, and struggles to get off blocks. If you made a checklist for traits that translate well from college to the NFL, and then another checklist for traits that don't translate to the NFL, he'd have more checkboxes ticked on that second list than he would on the first one.

Brandon Scherff isn't a tackle in the NFL, he's a guard. Is he a better guard prospect than Chance Warmack or Jonathan Cooper? I don't think he is. That said, why is he a unanimous top ten pick?

Landon Collins isn't a FS in the NFL, he's a SS. SS is one of those positions like NT and RB where they're a dime a dozen - you can get a good one in the 3rd round, or in free agency, or as an UDFA, or probably out of the CFL if you really had to. Collins isn't a better prospect than HaHa Clinton-Dix, who fell all the way to 21. Why is Collins a nearly unanimous top 15 prospect, even top 10 in some places?

Trae Waynes is a stiff athlete and struggles to get his head around in coverage. You know who that reminds me of? Chris Houston. That's a terrible comparison to make and I can't get that comp out of my head. Waynes had absolutely terrible agility drills and fairly pedestrian jumps at the combine too, which is a concern.

Denzel Perryman is the most overrated prospect in this class imo. I wouldn't touch him. He's small, slow, and has some of the worst instincts I've seen in this class. I've watched every ILB prospect and I'd rather have Mike Hull than Perryman. Perryman has a great accelerator when he finally decides where to attack, but it takes a long ass time to make that decision, and that's time you can't afford to lose in the NFL. Manti Te'o was a significantly better ILB prospect than Perryman, and he wasn't drafted in the first round...why should Perryman be?

Arik Armstead is very inconsistent. I have a late 1st-early 2nd round grade on him, but the "smartest guy in the room" asshole at ESPN keep projecting him in the top 15, even the top 10 at one point. He's not Calais Campbell, and frankly even though he IS remarkably similar to Campbell as a prospect, Campbell sucked when he first got into the league and had to absolutely work his ass off to be as dominant as we know him to be today. Armstead isn't going to show up and dominate just because Campbell is doing that now. He's a 3-4 DE only, not going to be cutting his teeth in any type of 4-3 defense, and he's going to need a lot of development before he's ready to see the field even as a 3-4 DE.

T.J. Clemmings is terrible. Flat out, awful. I legitimately wouldn't draft him, I don't see him as a draftable prospect. Is he athletic? Eh...kinda? Sorta? His lower body explosion is impressive but he's got a weak upper body, less than stellar acceleration and just got absolutely destroyed by everybody at the senior bowl when he was playing against the kind of competition that he might see in the NFL. There's literally nothing about him that says "draft this guy" to me, much less top 20 or first tackle off the board. That's ridiculous.

Melvin Gordon is another Wisconsin RB to me. I went through a phase where I really liked him as a Jamaal Charles clone, but he gets caught from behind way too much and he doesn't have Charles' vision. Then he runs over 4.5 at the combine and I've just kinda written him off ever since. There's too much RB talent in the NFL and in this draft for anybody to be willing to waste a first round (or even second) pick on a guy like Gordon to me, he's good but not game changingly good.

Malcom Brown, the way he plays, he's a one gapper. He's a three technique. He's a gap shooter. He's pretty good at it too, but if you want a one gap three technique gap shooting DT, there are better prospects in this class. Xavier Cooper and Henry Anderson come to mind.

DGB plays soft. People like to compare him to Calvin because he's tall but Calvin goes up and fights for contested passes, DGB plays passively. He isn't physical enough, it's like he doesn't even know how to use his own body to his advantage.

Andrus Peat is just flat out a terrible prospect. He's a day 3 guy to me. Why would you trust this guy to protect your QB? It makes no sense whatsoever that he's considered a top 15 guy, potentially the first tackle taken off the board. Ludicrous.
