I purchased the newest edition of the book and the workbook and I’m on the first principle right now. I do see a therapist. She isn’t trained in IE or HAES but she’s supportive of me pursuing both!
I’m sorry that you went through that as a child. I think I went through the opposite - family gave me food whenever I was struggling with difficult emotions. It was easier than dealing with a child that was naturally very sensitive. I do think you have a point - these experiences do seem to shape how we view food as adults.
I know about the gentle nutrition chapter but I felt like I shouldn’t skip chapters. I thought maybe that would be cheating. Haha
