SO does anyone know what happened during that florence + the machine concert grimes opened for, the one when she left the stage midset without any explanation ?

If my stage name was "Grimes" I don't think I would even need to have any sort of spiritual or superstitious worldview to believe the assassination of Christina Grimmie in the same week I was receiving threats from a stalker, and the same week an entire electronic dance club in Orlando was massacred, was a horrible omen. Like of all the pop stars to be assassinated, it had to be one of very few in history whose name would be alphabetized close to hers. And not even someone very well known whose assassination made any sense. Someone I personally never heard of until she died, and Claire might even not have heard of. And Claire's genre of music (in a sense) being targeted with the Pulse attack in Orlando too (of course it was targeting an LGBT club, but remember how few details were known about the motives at first). Almost as if Death was really stalking Grimes and her fans and just made a couple mistakes, but was about to "correct" that at Barclays.

I'm not saying she thinks like that, but that's how I might think about it if I was her in that week. And she may not even be afraid of death, I don't know, but she is certainly obsessed with the subject of death, judging by lyrics on Realiti, Belly, etc. And I don't think her fans' potential deaths because they were at her show and someone decided to commit violence is something she would take lightly.

This is just my personal interpretation of AA as her fourth album, but I also think the number four- which she also chose to place on the cover- might have a significance related to death for her, like it does in some Asian cultures. Her boyfriend in high school was Chinese and clearly she has studied some things about Chinese numerology or she just so happens to share Chinese numerology beliefs, since 8 is her personal lucky number, and that's also the luckiest number in Chinese culture, to the point people paid millions to have phone numbers of 8s. Her bday is also '88, I guess it could be as simple as that, but then again, that's also a dragon year and if I remember right, she commented on that connection before. She knows much more obscure stuff about Chinese superstitions and culture than the numerology (e.g. she's a fan of Zhou Xuan, a Chinese singer from the '30s) and if she is aware of how lucky 8 is, it's also likely she knows how 4 is the most unlucky number, which signifies death. She decided to create a "demon" character called "IV" and that is probably related to Art Angels being her fourth album (even if the character is pronounced "Ivy"). And I remember when she described the "Art Angels" as demons tormenting her. The death number was next- she had no way to avoid it- she had already made three albums. I almost wonder if scrapping the Squamish sessions was about that- like giving a sacrifice to the demon- deleting album four- like skipping 13th floors when you number an elevator (in China they skip 4th floors!).

But she eventually chose to face death head-on, putting the number right on the cover to taunt it with her fearlessness. The album is made in the shadow of death, feeling stalked by the deaths of her friends, and maybe feeling she was next (remember she started writing the album soon after she quit a tour in 2012 to protect her health- and got off drugs, which killed her friends).

Very little is known about the nature of the threats or (in one of the accused stalker's view) alleged threats, but there was apparently a threat about this show posted on our own sub (by the stalker himself, or someone else trying to alert her to the stalker, it isn't known except by our mods) some time before the show. This threat may even have been against the fans, not just against her. I would like to think that the "fucked day" did not involve any direct contact with the stalker, but instead, being informed by one of her friends or her managers, about the threats posted on here. That would be fucked enough. No one knows what the post actually said. It could have been a misreading of that person's creepy but not necessarily violent posts elsewhere on social media by some fan trying to help Grimes, or maybe it was a post by that person directly threatening Grimes and her fans.

When mods were later asked about that post they never offered any explanation. Probably this is for legal reasons- the reddit post is evidence and it was deleted by mods after informing Claire's team.
