She is great and you need to get over whatever facile expectations you have for female characters.

She’s goofy and self-absorbed but she’s also the only actual talented actor in the troop. I don’t count Barry since he’s just playing himself, not really acting.

She’s like a lot of young people. She wants to be different and make a difference but is learning that the world has a way of forcing you to compromise.

She also doesn’t put up with Barry’s bullshit, which is why their relationship doesn’t work out. She’s not there to be saved by him.

She’s a perfect foil for Barry. She’s all emotion and action where he is stifled and private. She’s the only one really pulling Barry out of his shell.

I get why teen-bros don’t get her. She’s challenging. But without her Barry doesn’t work. It would just be John Wick lite.

So yeah, I totally refuse to admit it.
