Does it look like I’m making progress? Started at over 400, I think. Second picture is at 365. I just sometimes doubt there’s any change.

I am taking control of my diabetes. Switched from diet soda to water, counting my carbs but NOT doing Keto. At my age (46) and with high blood pressure and the possibility of heart/cholesterol trouble, Keto terrifies me.

In more detail- I just stick as much as possible to 30 carbs for breakfast, 40-45 at lunch, 60 at dinner, with sometimes way less. I try to make those healthy carbs- whole wheat. I’ve completely cut out rice (because I love it and I can’t control myself).

Other than that, not much has changed. I try to just analyze what I eat and see how I can make it better, but still be happy. I have never been a dieter, and I know if I do anything too drastic, I’ll give up.

The water thing helps because now I don’t crave sweets and junk food. Diet soda REALLY was a huge problem for me!

For breakfast, I meal prep egg bites in my Instant Pot. They’re like mini quiches without the crust. An omelet would be the same. I eat 3 egg bites and a Nature Valley Soft Bakes Cinnamon Square. With my cold brew/Splenda/2 T heavy cream, I’m right at 30 carbs, and I’m full. I zap the egg bites for 1 minute, so it’s a quick breakfast!

Lunch- I haven’t found something I’m happy with yet. I do not enjoy eating the same thing all week, but it’s so time consuming to prep many different things. I’ve tried spinach salad with feta and Greek grilled chicken, spinach wraps with turkey and cheddar, and this week I will try chicken tenders breaded in almond flour in my air fryer. I am thinking if it’s like fast food, I might be happier.

Dinner is in the Instant Pot mostly, but I just watch the carbs. Good luck!
