Does Wilmington have a good art / music scene?

I would say no, depending on what you are comparing it to. I moved from Asheville, planning to send the work i made here to Asheville and my St. Augustine Florida gallery. The problem is there is no real art store, so getting supplies is a huge inconvenience, i order everything online but it sucks to run out of a color and know Michaels and hobby lobby wont have it. There are also few services to get art photographed and reproduced. Unless you are willing to pay $150-400 an image at Canvas Gicless place. Also the galleries dont seem to sell a lot of volume or at very high prices from what i have seen and heard. Though there are a couple exceptions and if you can get in with those it could be ok. There are definitely a lot of places to vend, if thats your jam. And i cant speak to those events. But moving here was not great for my workflow and im moving out in may. Though im mostly moving because its super dangerous to be queer here and the proud boys attend almost every school board meeting. The history of Wilmington has always been white supremacy control.
