Does your world have a boogieman equivalent?

In the swamps of Sedan lies the Sedantjenya, the Father of the Bog. Once he was a normal father who lived within the swamps when one day his children went missing he searched for them, but he could not find them. Then he stumbled and fell into the swamps himself and drowned there. His sorrowfull spirit still lives within the bog and searched for his children, from beneath the shallow waters he stretches out his clutches and pulls careless wanderers to him, hoping to find his children.

North to the Empire lie the old forest of Ki'in were tribes live, who often kidnap people and take them into the woods to sacrifice them in blasphemous ritual to their malicious tree god. Those tribes are real and similar peoples once lived all over the northern part of the Empire, legends of them still remain. People living near the forests tell their children these stories so they might not venture into the woods themself.

In the South there are stories of the Abtud Ljefim, the Old Drinker. Sometimes he is a man in other stories he is a woman. Once he was a mere vintner, but when war came his orchards were destroyed and his livelyhood also. One day a Lord came to him and said he wanted his best wine or else he will destroy what was left. The Abtud was desperate, he had not enough wine to serve the men of the Lord. So he slaughtered his family, mixed their blood into the wine and served their flesh to the Lord's men. The Lord was pleased by the taste of the wine and spared the life of the Abtud. Now he is said to wander the lands disguised as a wine merchant, he lures people in and makes them drunk, so he can kill them and drink their blood.
