I don't think that MtF athletes should compete in competitive women's sport (long & effort)

I think the science and politics of this are very complicated. The problem I have with the current debate is it seems to be between out and out transphobes and narcissistic trans people.

All the anti trans stuff is usually totally ignorant of what trans people's lives are actually like. There's a lot of conspiratorial nonsense where people think that trans women just sign up without taking HRT, or are there for easy wins. They don't seem to realize that trans women just want to play like everyone else just wants to play.

Like I don't know if Rachel McKinnon should be allowed to compete, I lean towards yes. And all the hateful stuff written about her is terrible. However, her grasp of science is lacking and her pushing for no testosterone level check in sports is so harmful to trans people, and obviously self serving. Not to mention her attention grabbing horseshit about all orientations besides pan being immoral.

If it is proven that trans women have an advantage here's what we could do:

I think team sports are pretty easy to compromise. You can just have quotas like max two trans women per team. Junior hockey (max age 20) in Canada does this for 20 year olds, there are a max 2 per team.

Individual sports is tougher. You could do a handicap in sports where it's applicable. Something like tennis is tougher. I'm not sure what to do in that case.

Fighting sports I think it should be up to the individual athletes whether they agree to fight.

Overall, I think there needs to respect for trans people throughout the process that's sorely lacking at this point.
