If you actually want to be respected and taken seriously, maybe try being ACTUALLY polite. "Oh, excuse me, I am in line too." As a non-short person myself, this kind of thing happens all the time, and it does to everyone, if you have a sour attitude about it and believe the only reason it happened is because you are short, then you get a situation like the viral video from this week. When you make a big deal out of it, everyone else will too.
