CMU might be better for CS, but because of that, the competition is significantly harder and my friends from HS who go there are struggling pretty hard (despite being much smarter than me). Duke CS has minimal requirements and if you’re good at CS, it’ll be easy to focus on getting a top job, since all the “prestige” companies still hire actively from Duke.

CMU culture is a lot more intense about CS so if you’re thinking about grad school or maximizing your technical knowledge, that’s probably a better bet, but at Duke, you can still get end up at Facebook and have a normal social life/double major and minor/whatever else you wanna do.
