Dumb things you hear in dev meetings that left you dumbfounded

Not entirely related but in one place scrummaster/PM used allocations solely based on visible stories. And ran scrum meeting like anything but scrum.

One of my friend used to work in place where they had budget allocated for a "project" for like 6 months. He worked his ass off and did lot of ground work for the application. After 7th month or so he was let go as the PM/Scrummaster who was doing the allocation thought that he wasn't doing much work due to visibility.

As in story points wise etc. My friend basically did all Database work which didn't have any story point and lots of integration work too.

He got canned and went on to some other place. Exactly after 30 days he gets multiple calls from old work place asking him to come down as they have no fucking clue what is going on. This happened as recent as last yr.

Scrum was used by people who had no idea of how things work.
