I thought it would be cool to work on embedded systems too. I even did embedded work in my free team after my normal work hours to learn it.

The team I joined was mainly responsible for maintaining an old project that had been written over a decade ago.

It was the most boring job I’ve had, and just the lack of low level knowledge of most of the people there shocked me, given the purpose of the project.

I did very well on the projects I was assigned and proposed some of my own that I got to work on, but after a couple years I went back to frontend development. It took me that long to realize the whole thing was just me thinking the grass was greener in embedded.
