Cliff Notes of first World of Darkness game. It may be slightly sacrilegious... Player characters are Anne, Seth, and Catalina. I'm actually leaving one out who joined very late towards the end of the game, but this gives the gist of things:

1. Seth kills the mayor of NYC in a mob hit.
2. Anne becomes the social worker for Seths son Michael who he does not know exists.
3. Catalina fends off mob thugs during her night job (Dominatrix) and inevitably runs into Seth someone that she grew up with and fell out of touch with when his family went belly up due to an abusive father.
4. Seth finds out mob has been hiding his son Michael from him, murders mob boss in retaliation.
5. Anne and Seth have their children kidnapped. Chase ensues. Annes sister Gayle (16 years old) has to follow behind, mostly as a liability.
6. Find children kidnapped by Annes thought to be dead husband. He's a vampire, vampires are real. Familial arguments ensue, but overall happiness.
7. Happiness short lived as I was watching too many Liam Neeson movies and Seths abusive father (Miguel) who has become a powerful vampire , attempts to take them again. Seth 'dies' in the struggle, Miguel decides to turn him into a vampire...possibly just to be able to screw with him more and he leaves with Michael. Anne's child is able to stay out of harms way.
8. Miguel gives the group an ultimatum for him to give back Michael. He wants them to retrieve the spear of Longinus (Pierced the side of Christ while on the crucifix) for him.
9. They comply. Sometime in this, Seth meets his vampire love interest (Sophia) who happens to know and absolutely abhors Miguel. Annes sister stays behind with Sophias mentor.
10. Ritual ensues to get the spear, which is kept safe within the Garden of Eden...which exists out of time and space.
11. Anne, Seth, and Catalina kill the angel Michael and the guardian of Eden. Anne slices off her head, and reveals that the guardian is somehow her sister. Much older, but it's her sister. In the middle of the battle, Sophia takes the Spear and leaves Eden with it.
12. Party is visited by the angel Gabriel in the Garden, who is strangely not hostile. He provides vague clues to the future as required by angel law.
13. Chase ensues, but unfortunately when they leave Eden they wind up in a different time period. (Way way in the past)
14. They utilize vague angel clue to get the assistance of a knight. Catalina falls in love with knight, party murders corrupt bishop. They head to the Cenacle (Location of last supper).
15. Ritual ensues, the party kills the metatron who has fallen.
16. Party returns to future, but they overshoot. Miguel has used his influence to basically take over the world and basically become Satan in the flesh (Longer story).
17. As a member of the remaining resistance against Miguel, Sophia apologizes profusely to Seth. Anne's son Jaime who was left behind with her sister Gayle are also there. Sophia has raised them. Heartfelt reunion. Seth is informed that his son Michael joined Miguel. Jaime killed him weeks prior (There is of course a lot more to this). Seth is done with life, is ready to face the end, and it is preferable he takes his father with him. He makes up with Sophia.
    
18. Angel Gabriel and others arrive to other. Explains that everything has happened for a reason and for the greater good, but his heart really isn't in it. Seth and Catalina accept this fate. Anne refuses, turns her back on a God that would justify what happened to them as necessary.
19. Angel Gabriel, Seth, and Sophia have a private rock concert on the eve of the battle. Gabriel becomes attached to Gayle around this time. 19 (TL;DR). The game ended when the party cut down Satan with flaming swords, while the armies of heaven, hell, and earth fought around them. Casualties: Seth and Sophia both die during the conflict.

Falling action ensues.

I have run two games set in the future after the conflict that went very well. And I plan on running one during the time that they missed in the modern era.
