Fact Proven: There are way more guy bugs than girl bugs.

Lets just unpack that, shall we, in the context of this thread as our data set?

What have I done except say the survey results are inaccurate?

Does this sub regularly defend bad data? Across the board?

If you look at the responses to my statements, which I am willing to admit are not making any effort to soften the blow, can you honestly tell yourself that if you were not female that you would be getting such support of what is bad data?

Did it not gain you attention? Did you not post it knowing that it was not scientific?

Alien Overlords and Vulcans - the presence of these in the survey indicates that the respondents tell fibs. The obvious fibs are just that, but what about the not so obvious ones? What margin of error was allowed for that?

My initial gripe is just what it says it was. "facts proven" you tell me, what was it? something about if i can't get over it being a quote from another post? right? So an in-joke then, meaning the post will only make sense to someone who was in on it from at least that point. Which seems like a heavy criteria to lay on a post. It certainly wasn't mentioned as a source in the body.

You had some fun. You made a survey. It got some answers. ALL i said was that the answers do not represent the actual population. Anybody with a stat class behind them would agree. ergo=bad (false) data.

Im not criticizing you. Im criticizing your presentation of non-facts as being facts. If you like I can find and link stat articles illustrating these points, but you seem to have good google-fu and probably don't need them. And I suspect you know the results only apply to the sample. Not to the pop. And I suspect you know that if our genders were reversed you'd be being slammed (more) for inaccurate science, and Id be being supported (more) for calling it. Because it is, statistically, how things are. And to offer the idea that this sub is somehow more or less influenced by gender than any other is making a really big statement that would be interesting if it could actually be proved. Indicating a correlation of silver collecting to gender neutrality among (according to your data) predominantly male populations on a specific subreddit. It would be newsworthy in scientific communities if it could be proved. You think you've got some real newsworthy results? Or just having a bit of fun?

None of my questions here are intending to inflame anyones anger but are honest questions.
