Far Cry 4

Lastly I want to talk about:

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

I don't think there's too much to say about Blood Dragon after talking about Far Cry 3 except the fact that I loved it with a passion. It was identical to FC3 in game mechanics, the only thing they changed was the entire aesthetic of the game to a 'futuristic' look that was parodying the 80s and looking like a TRON movie.

The game almost feels like a parody of the first Far Cry where it makes fun of every single cliche in the book and pokes fun at the plot by making everything over the top and campy.

You play as Rex Colt a cybersoldier made for the sole purpose of kicking ass and saying random one liners.

My favourite Rex Colt Quote:

  • Sgt. Rex 'Power' Colt: What's with the needle, Doc?
Dr. Elizabeth Darling: Listen. This will make you more like Sloan. Powerful but without the side-effects.
Sgt. Rex 'Power' Colt: No Doc. No way. I swore an oath to a special lady.
    Dr. Elizabeth Darling: Your... wife?
Sgt. Rex 'Power' Colt: No. Lady Liberty. She taught me that winners... don't use drugs.

Eventually you have to go on a mission that parodies Far Cry 3 where you basically go into a drug state find yourself in a random tribal place and kill magic monsters with a minigun to get awesome powers as a reward. You get this awesome shuriken that shoots lasers forever and blows everything up. After that you get to ride a mechanical dinosaur and kill everything in site with orchestraic music playing the background.

One of my favourite things about Blood Dragon is how colourful it is compared to the rest of the games! It just feels like eye candy taking in all these bright neon colours. Did I mention there are cyber blood dragons? Yeah.

Maybe as a parody of the first game you actually do get a sniper that shoots rockets. It's pretty incredible to rocket snipe across the map like the bandits did in the first game.

So basically to sum it all up I want to experienced Far Cry all over again, and Far Cry 4 seems to be the best way to do that. Far Cry 4 seems to have taken everything the older games did to another level. It seems to be the only game Ubisoft hasn't screwed up this season which makes me happy seeing how highly praised the other 3 are. I'd love to go on another open world adventure with true modern graphics and see if it's as good or even better than Far Cry 3 was. It'd be a blast to go on another open world adventure and experience the amazing graphics that the screenshots show.

Thanks for the chance and opportunity!
