Fate/Apocrypha OP 2 "ASH" by LiSA

I personally really love the ending...all of it EXCEPT for Sieg just standing in the middle of the field for mainly 2 reasons. 1. I really don't like Sieg at all, and 2. Random open field scenes are used too much, and it usually doesnt tell me anything more about the character besides that theyre supposed to be pondering something. How am I supposed to know what they're thinking though and why should I care? They have to have pretty solid characterization for the scene to work, and Sieg imo definitely doesn't. If he was looking out among the fighting of the servants before he joined in, it would be better because it at least would show him pondering about whether or not he should take the path to his end and join the holy Grail war or resume a free life of peace. Before that though, I really love the song and the simple poses and composition of the servants. I feel it does a pretty good job showing off how they are, and it works because we do know a little bit about the servants, and their personalities are simple to grasp. I love how Achilles has a bit of a smirk and Atalanta stands beside him with arms crossed looking calm, and also the fact that they're side by side, further strengthening their Greek hero sibling bond. I like how astolfo is running around smiling in the rain, showing that not even a rainy day can sour his bright mood. We get a look at Karna looking at himself through a puddle which tells a lot about Karna and tells me that he's more complex and has a lot of hangups either due to what's going on in the story, or from his previous legend. He's quiet and pondering and for someone so powerful, you really wonder why he doesn't just go all out. I love Shakespeare (one of my fave fgo servants) sitting amongst all those books. It shows how well suited he is to Writing and Literature and feels most at home amongst all those books...also love how he is looking out the window thinking instead of writing. For a guy who has everything he wants in this war (seeing epic heroes fight) it makes me wonder what he is thinking. The Jeanne scenes with her looking out the window work better than Siegs just because we know that she actively thinks a lot and worries about others and the servants constantly as a ruler class and just the type of person Jeanne D arc is . She could really be thinking about a lot of the current situation but a good time to ponder I suppose is when looking out the window on a rainy day. Semiramis closing her eyes and feeling the rain is a great touch too. Couple all of this with the amazing song and I LOVE the ending.

The opening on the other hand is REALLY bad and boring imo. I'm also not a huge fan of the song...it's just okay to me. The visuals though are static, boring, and make me care even less about what's going on in the story.

So far, apocrypha has had some of the worst OPs I've ever scene. The first ones song grew on me, but the visuals were still lackluster.

This turned out to be a lot more writing than I expected, but I just wanted to talk about it! Thanks for the great quality mirrors in the comments!
