I feel so demoralized playing this game because I am "woman".

Let's do some quick ballpark math:

- 400k players averaging 20 games per month so that's about 8 million games

- assuming you don't interacting with the enemy's team, there're 2 * (5 * 4/2) = 20 interaction pairs per game

- so that 160 million interaction pairs per game

- with the player base ~ 5% female, then, for every 495 interaction pairs, there is 1 female-female interaction pair and 494 female-male interaction pairs

In all, over a month, there are: 160 million * 1/495 ~ 300k female-male interaction pairs**. So the questions are:

  1. Of these 300k female-male interactions/month, how many of them turn sour and how many do so specifically because of sexism?
  2. Of the total 160 million interactions regardless of sex, how many of them turn sour? Specifically, how often do the 159.7 million male-male interactions / month turn sour?

It can be unpleasant for individuals involved in specific incidents, how any broad judgment / systemic accusations should be based on:

  • The absolute probabilities from #1 above
  • The relative comparisons between the probabilities in #1 and the probabilities in #2
