Do you feel safer riding a bike or a electric scooter?

An ebike is not only safer: it's also far more practical as a vehicle. It can carry more cargo, it can have as much battery capacity as you feel comfortable lugging around, it has far better tolerance for bad road conditions or off-roading, the frame is much more stable and it doesn't stop being useful the moment it runs out of electricity.

It is, in any way that matters, the superior vehicle.

In a utopic world of magic and unicorns where we could leave bikes around without them being stolen, there really would be no reason for escooters to exist - you could just go wherever, leave the bike outside, come back to it and ride off, without spending minutes locking and unlocking it every time and worrying about whether you'll find it where you left it.

Unfortunately humans are bastards, which creates the need to keep your expensive vehicle close to you where it can be guarded. That's why escooters have ebikes by the balls, and why we accept all their shortcomings, including the comparative lack of safety.
