First time pinball buyer

On the rental front... I reached out to a local company here in Atlanta... and here's the response I got. Thought some of you would enjoy it...

Brian... thank you for your inquiry.

No one rents pinball machines into the home that I am aware of.  Too risky and pin looses its profit potential if abused.  No home owner is going to sign a contract to cover abuse (or thief for that matter) and even if they would it would not be unenforceable.

There is also no demand for such a service... you are the third person to request this in 13 years... in those same 13 years I have sold well over 400 pins.  The other two requests were for less than a week for a party... so actually you are the first along the line of your needs.

Between you and me.... based on the wording of your email you probably should pass on purchasing a pin.  80% of pin owners buy a pin, play it like crazy for a month, then it becomes a piece of art that gets played during parties and holidays to entertain guest.  They own on at that point just to be able to say they do.

Of course you and your family could be the other 20% and you could get hooked, and then come this time next year you’ll have several, and have traded out a few to “upgrade/rotate” your collection along the way, as most titles get boring after you fully learn the gameplay and physics.

Sorry, but the above is honest.

If you want more insight you can call me... I can ask a few questions and from your answers coach you on what you should target budget wise and why... things to avoid, and what to expect from a maintenance standpoint... and if it makes sense we can discuss my specific current inventory items that fall within the parameters/conclusions of the discussion.
