Fixing God's Fuckups v1.0

  1. It only refers to skills. It's based on the knowledge you possess, and while being able to fly would let you understand more about the techniques involved in flying, it wouldn't help with the magical mechanics of flight... sort of in the same way that it took ages for engineers (who know how to walk, and were presumably well-practiced at it) to make robots capable of walking. Knowing how to do something doesn't help you understand the theory, which is why the theoretical knowledge imparted by having a skill is more valuable.
  2. Arcanomancy can, for instance, selective remove people within a spell's area of effect, cause a spell to have lingering effects in the area, make a spell cost less mana to cast a second time in a row, extend the range or reach of a spell (but not other variables), alter a larger and more powerful spell to focus on a single target for more power (as opposed to just using a smaller and weaker spell, like you'd do without Arcanomancy), and so on. It is a LOT more useful in combination with the Ten Thousand Spells world modifier, as you can have something like the spell Arcanomancy [wall-shaped magic], and synergize it together with Pyromancy [fireball], Oxymancy [spear of acid], Astrapomancy [lightning bolt], or Hydromancy [pillar of water] to make a wall-shaped magical effect from a variety of different spells that would otherwise look very different.
  3. While D&D spellcasters technically need 8 hours of rest, most people only do so once a day, and most non-spell abilities are based on the number of times per day you can do something, so I think if you're comparing times to D&D, per 24 hours would be a closer to how things work... but there's a few methods you can take to increase your mana production. Mana Revitalization can increase it to as high as 1% every 3 minutes. If you have Trance, you can use Meditation while doing other things. Additionally, if you have Mastery in Meditation, that bumps the mana increase up by another multiplier; if you have I'm Just That Good (Meditation), that's another multiplier. So if you had that and Mana Revitalization, you could recover 4% of your mana every 3 minutes, returning you to maximum mana in only 1 hour and 15 minutes.
