The third year came round faster than expected, Well, more accurately Emma did. Having the girl you want to ask out on a date knock on the door when you’re ‘paying the rent’ is very distracting. Luckily I had enough time to organize myself and appear reasonable. Turns out she’d come back early to talk to me and spend some time together. We went in to town and hit it off. She’d been thinking of asking me on a date but the whole incident with Amelia getting ‘lost’ in the fight and the end of year exams there hadn’t been time. Thatch came back a few days later and said ‘he’d expected as much’ when I told him that Emma and I were dating. I still had to pay rent to Hilda but honestly it wasn’t a big deal. Emma had talked about introducing me to her parents, I’d persuaded her to wait till Christmas.
Third year is awesome, I’m just doing the fun stuff, Naturmancy With not much left to learn I’ve decided to some extracurricular studies Specifically some more Metamancy and With Amelia out the way I have more reason to dip in to Malumancy, making my Hex Proof more powerful will serve me well I guess. I’m staring the year out by finishing my elemental control selection by learning how to control fire.
So, its been a month and a bit since Emma and I started dating, she took me back to her place a few days ago. I guess we really are a thing now. Victoria has laid off a little since I started clearly dating her, but she still has a go, Honestly I’ve given up with the prissy pain in the neck. Thatch has been talking about opening a rift to an alternate plane to use its power to enchant things, I like the idea, I could use it to enhance my summoning and raw elemental control. Emma thinks it’s a bad idea but we’re going to try it in the new years.
So, Turns out that Emma’s parents expect us to get married, Something about ‘obligations after treating her so well’ or something. I promised them that should we still be together when we graduate then I’ll marry her. She’s telling everyone we’re engaged. Hilda took it pretty well, stating that I still had to pay rent until I moved out, Emma isn’t best pleased with it but isn’t complaining. Thatch is teasing me for being ‘such a lucky sod’ but I think he and Lissandra are seeing each other, as whenever I mention it they both go bright red and deny everything.
We fucked up, big time. We tore open a hole in reality, and all of us got messed up, pretty bad. The teachers had a real go at us, Victoria is refusing to talk to me. The upside of all this? I now have pointed ears, and don’t need to sleep. I also think I can’t get ill, as my cold cleared up pretty much instantly. Thatch on the other hand is bitching that he can't feel anything, he is however….weird, We’ve been testing things and we think he’s pretty much immortal, I mean I dropped 200 tons of rock on him at stupid high speeds, and he just shrugged it off like nothing happened. Emma however didn’t fare so well. She ended up as a monster girl called a Manticore. I’m not complaining, she now has wings and a tail that is…anyway, we got in some real trouble, 2 days of detention with each teacher, in order. It's going to be hell.
I survived! It cut in to my study time and kind of messed things up. I’ve now got control over animals and plant life. I honestly feel like I could have learnt more but with the detention and the attention Emma has been giving me life has been all kinds of difficult. I’m going to be spending the summer at Emma’s place with her parents and her. I think this is some kind of test. Or something, They don’t seem too fussed at her change, they’ve just asked that she doesn’t do anything unusual in public. I guess that makes sense. I need to keep my powers in check while I’m there.
