France, how gloriously was your country’s history taught while growing up?

I voted Ze best because i want to fuck up your vote, but actually, my history class was pretty much neutral.
They were not lying, they never lied to me about a fact in our history.

For example, I had a quite important passage on the collaboration of the French during WWII (I still remember it, so it must have been an important subject for my teacher).

On the other hand, some passages are "minimized", no doubt. I don't know if it's out of misplaced pride or because you're teaching children, but my teachers tended to downplay the violence of certain parts of our history (colonisation and decolonisation for example).

But I honestly think that every country does it. Nobody is 100% impartial, especially when it comes to children.
