Wait what was a big flex? I was just making a facetious joke. Vietnam was a huge mistake for us and Westmoreland never adjusted his dumb body-count strategy. We supported a deeply flawed and corrupt government simply because they were catholic and not communist. And what’s worse is we took 0 lessons from that entire engagement into Afghanistan (a justified engagement in my mind, yet executed poorly), let alone Iraq (unjustified, shit decision that France correctly pointed out as wrong from the start). I don’t really know any modern American’s who know/learn about the Vietnam War and think ”we did that right, it was the right decision”.
