Just take a chance, but do it with some cool. I missed out on some crushes I had at that age because I was indecesive and feared being rejected (I was suppose to be the "cool" guy and that wouldnt go well with my image) even though I had an open free way to score when I think about it in retrospective. Now I wish I would rather have taken the shot and got rejected than doing nothing, so just do it!

Now a couple of years later probably the only thing I do understand is how to treat women. So I might offer you a tip! Dont explain EXACTLY how you feel before taking action. If she doesnt feel the same intensity for you, but is interested, she might be taken back by it. Take her out for some fun just the two of you and if you feel its going smoothly tell her very calmy that she is awesome to hang around and that you been thinking about this for a while and just lean in for a kiss. Another good one is to ask her to see a movie without mentioning where. If her first thoughts are that you are watching at home then take that as a BIG sign you are already in as that means she already wants to be alone with you in a couch ;) Ive found that sometimes us guys look too long for "the perfect moment" (might be an excuse to not take action) when they just are waiting for you to do something. That being said you have to feel the situation and not just force it of course.

Also, the situation with your friend might be two things. Either she is doing it on purpose to see if it will force you to take action with her (she might just be waiting) or with some bad luck she might think "Alright he just wants to be friends as he hasnt tried anything". Its ok though! Just means she likes you enough to still want you around even after nothing intially happend and then you still have a good chance to do it now! Just dont wait for her to take the first step, sometimes it that easy but in most cases no.
