I would like to see a more concentrated effort, on mainstream tv, no specifically to recruit people but to explain the origins and meanings of your craft. You must have some talented people somewhere in the ranks that could take examples and lay them out across a wide field. A month long program on CNN or Fox, don't be shy about he darker aspects of the human soul either, be honest and go full blast with talent. Tie old things to new things in a manner that can rightfully gain attention.
(someone did it on social media and got a large group of people interested in "meta" for example. Social memes played a big part, music and all of the arts.)

I was reading a post on reddit earlier about the daily life of a castle in the middle ages, one historian got in there and made it interesting and you will note it got some peoples attention and they asked questions.
Have a legit Q&A without it being "stuffy and strict" but make sure to tell them discipline is involved. The tv show "American Grit" comes to mind. Its not easy, so make it what it is.. a challenge!
