Yeah sure I hate the racists too but conservatives and racists still engage with media just because their headcanons are foul doesn’t mean they don’t exist

They aren’t missing the point any less than right wing fans of Star Trek or fallout are there’s something there either politically or not that they can grab on to and when it contradicts their politics they just headcanon their way out

Same as any other fan I do the same thing too only with queer characters and queering characters

It doesn’t make their politics or headcanons okay but it isn’t any less or a thing of their allowed to do nor do they not know how to do it

I don’t particularly enjoy people who ignore the far more interesting critique of “why does the right wing like the boys”

For dumb and uninteresting“lol they don’t understand the boys is mocking them”

It’s just bleh and shows people don’t think about the show as much I’ve explained before why right wing Star Trek and fallout fans aren’t hard to grasp it just requires some thinking about what you might see as flaws or the series that may be the reason they find it easy to grasp

Star Trek and it’s militarization and military sci fi wank and ship design and specifics and how the UFP kinda imperialisty at times

And fallout the satire is a tad on the thick and exaggerated side and all exaggerated satire are one “not but really tho” away from having right wing fans

It’s not them being stupid and I really hate when people act like it

I’m again not defending anything they say stomp their faces in and beat them with flails but like they are still fans that have a fandom

They just don’t realize have the shit they do is headcanons or the like but that’s what it is just because they don’t use the terms doesn’t mean it’s not that.
