He wants an entire section to be left alone. A somewhat large section for doing nothing with other then having forest as shown in map. To me this sounds too much, if he was actively in the process of fencing it off I would have backed off. He purely wanted it as a visual.

Counteroffer. He swung high, I swung low. I haven’t played in awhile so I don’t know what people expect from their deeds but I thought a 10 tile buffer of unpaid land around a deed where someone promised not to touch even if they do nothing with it or fence it off or develop it was a lot. At this point I’m assuming this person would start negotiations of something in between. Like a 20-25-30 tile buffer which I would have worked around. We both made offers, and now came the examining part which did not come.

Past this point I concluded that this person has no idea how to negotiate and that his first offer was not part of negotiations but was a demand, he was expecting me to simply obey what he wanted with no compromising. I came to this conclusion based purely off the conversation.

This line confirms that this person didn’t enter this conversation with negotiations in mind. This is my way or the highway mentality. He cuts communication shortly after this.
