I adopted a flash card technique from one of my co-workers on exam 6. That exam has a ton of material and a lot of memorization.
I buy a couple packs of colored flash cards. The packs I get from target have blue, purple, yellow, red, and green. Then use the different colors to organize by learning objective. A =blue, B = yellow, etc.
This helps break a potentially intimidating stack of cards into smaller bites.
Also, I only buy the standard size card, not big ones. If it doesn't fit on a small card then it's not really appropriate for flash card style review (for me).
If I run out of colored cards I can also use white ones then color the edges with a highlighter.
