Games where normal stuff is huge?

  • Little Big Planet 1, 2, and 3. This is the prime example. Platformer with 3 levels of depth, very cool and very creative. Think they all were playstation exclusives. I found that the first had the most charm. Think the entire series is PlayStation exclusive. Goes from PS3 to Ps4. Vita too I think.

  • Hot Wheels: Beat That! for PS2. Played this when I was a kid. Pretty sure there's a map where you go around this kids room. Most if not all are based around the idea that you are driving the literal toy car. Other Hot Wheels titles from this generation should maintain a similar feel.

  • Table Top Racing. Similar to Hot Wheels, but for PS4. Don't know about other compatibility. The sushi level is cool.

Other Mentions:

  • Yoshi's Crafter World
  • Katamari Damacy

THERE is also a game on Steam where you are a red Gumby-like character in a backyard and you manipulate objects but I can't find it. It released in the last 3 years and did quite well.

This style is a particular favourite of mine. If you want creative inspiration, any of Walter Wick's book series, 'Can You See What I See', 'I Spy', and 'Hey, Seymour' are all good.
