I’m too scared to play VR home alone

I read that you were previously robbed and I can relate to that. I had my car broken into a few weeks ago and a week before that, had an unnerving experience of someone coming to my front door at 2:20 AM wanting to “borrow my phone”. A week or so before that, I woke up one morning to find the gate to my back yard was forced open (it is broken and only extensive force could get it open; not force from the wind).

I would recommend installing some cheap security cameras. They provide me some piece of mind and may do the same for you. They can even alert you. As someone else mentioned here, you can even use apps such as OVRdrop or Virtual Desktop to place a window within your VR environment that will let you monitor your security cameras.

All of that said, it wouldn’t hurt for you to talk to someone to make sure those fears you are having aren’t irrational. I’m not going to go as far as to accuse you of having irrational fears like others have done here because myself and no one else here truly knows your situation. For all we know, those fears may me justifiable. Especially if you live in an area with a high rate of crime. I, for one, would be insulted if someone who doesn’t know my situation were to naively insinuate that I have irrational fears after my car was broken in to; leading to me setting up security cameras.
