Get a laptop if you truly think you are gonna be able to utilize the portability, like if you're not at your home all week and you still want to be able to game.

I bought an alienware (and it is a really good laptoo) but I basically use it as a desktop since I'm mostly at home. If you do decide on a laptop keep upradability and portability in mind.

Dont get a laptop that's too bulky cause it's a pain to take with you sometimes. For upgradability you can get an external GPU and upgrade that but that's about it

For your situation maybe a gaming laptop would be good since you say you wanna bring it with you. Do some research into different ones and decide which is best
