I was getting annoyed reading some of the comments. Yes, he was the 12th overall pick and I understand it usually comes with expectations. But not every high pick is always ready to come in and be a stud right away.

Gary played less than 1/4 of the defensive snaps and he showed a lot of positive in limited opportunities. Stats didn't jump out, but he was getting pressure and showed explosiveness.

Another thing people gotta realize is he is playing a different position, and our FA pickups of the Smiths allowed us the luxury of not rushing him and allowing him to learn. Camp/practice, as well as some real game reps. We took a chance because he's an athletic freak and thought he had potential as an edge rusher.

I'm not saying he was great or he will be great, but damn some people gotta give the guy a chance. If there is no improvement in years 2 and 3, then we can chalk it up as a loss.
