You’re exaggerating all over this thread. First you said she was “beaten” which means struck repeatedly. She was punched once. Then you said her face was “slammed repeatedly into concrete.” In Leah’s own words: “I fell onto the sidewalk, and suddenly I had four cops on my back, cuffing me. I just felt so many knees on my back. And one of them slammed my face into the subway grates and knocked my tooth out.”

We don’t need to trivialize it, but we also don’t need to exaggerate it. Especially when much more extreme cases of police brutality happen to people who aren’t white or privileged and they sure as hell don’t get a $75,000 payout, if they are even lucky to still be breathing.
