To the gear lab guy

I didn't feel like replying to every single person saying this post is pointless/what's the use/virtue signaling as it would be the same response:

The reason I made this post and said that I won't be able to approach him in person is because I really can't. Every time I saw him, he was visibly agitated if you ever looked at his face and he kept moving from place to place across campus. He had his doors shut on everyone around him. Also, think about this - if his loved ones couldn't change his behaviour, do you think some random person he meets can? Trust me, I have been in the position I mentioned in my post, and if he is really in the same position, doing the same thing to motivate him will not help. He needs a different approach to actually motivate him.

Another reason I made this post is because I really want to add at least one post that doesn't make fun of him on this subreddit. Search "r/uwaterloo gear lab guy" on google and all the results you get are people either saying someone should help him or making fun of him (both on the same post). How would you feel if any and all posts made on you were nothing of value and sometimes even put you down by making fun of you? "Be the change you want to see in the world" - don't say someone should help him, actually help him. Write something positive/inspiring. I want this post to at the very least, show up on the google results when you search up his name, and hopefully inspire others to make similar posts and start a chain of positive events. I really believe that those posts will change him. Also, I really couldn't care less about karma. I never did, it's some virtual number that represents literally nothing. You can't pick up girls by saying you have a lot of karma on reddit, it literally has no use according to me. You can downvote my comments and post, I really wouldn't care. This is such a surface-level view on this post when someone says virtue signalling. This post is so much more deeper than a stupid number without value.
