Georgia High School Student Beats Up His Teacher After He Told His Parents He Was Failing His Class.. Faces Criminal Charges!

Idk. Growing up my Brother acted the same way, even landed himself in a few Juvenile Detention Centers on assault charges. Took a few years of him trying to fight the system and everything and everyone in it to finally realize that he was fucking up. That it was his actions which led to these consequences (and would continue to do so).

The issue (or one of them) is that when people face consequences for their actions, often times they simply latch onto any rationalization that shirks the blame unto others. My brother blamed everyone else for egging him on, they're the reason he lashed out. As this young man likely blames the teacher, and the student for intervening. Whether or not some time in Juvi will solve that is wholly up to the individual. They have to want to change. They have to get past the denial. But when you're an angry person, and you feel unheard, unwanted, and disrespected, that can be hard. Near to impossible even.

The root of this issue has long since taken hold. Now it's a matter of managing the depths of which those roots go while there's time still. Though Juvi shouldn't be the first line of defense, and I hope this young man gets the help he needs. But something tells me he's much like my own brother, and won't seek out or accept any assistance until it's the literal last resort.
