Google resumes its senseless attack on the URL bar, hides full addresses on Chrome 85

I don’t have to support their anti-consumer choices. That’s the cool thing about the anti-monopoly lawsuit against MS in the 90’s: I have choices in other browsers thanks to anti-trust laws.

Google is trying to hide a portion of the URL bar to trick users on Chrome into thinking their browser is faster by hiding the fact that they are on an AMP page (Google server that cache and hosts a version of that website).

They are manipulating a convention that has been the norm since the advent of the internet in order to gain an unfair advantage over the completion (all while tricking users by removing information).

But hey, if that sounds cool with you, then that’s good for you I guess.
