Reddit, I come from a financially humble background and just inherited a humble $40,000 without notice. What would you do?

I'm fortunate to be 23 year old, working in a position that allows me to be making a comfortable living, especially for someone my age (i just got hired last month and experienced the term "from rags to riches." I was making 450 biweekly as an intern last month, and now I'm making $1600 bi weekly plus other financial benefits, and just received this check, which my uncle left to me (I can't even describe how that feels given the fact that I am just one of 10 other nieces and nephews he could have left this to)

Anyways it's kind of a different life I've been given. I have done a lot of living for someone my age and have seen a lot of the negativity this world can bring if allowed. After turning my life around 3 years ago and putting down the needle for good, I feel as though I am being given this at the perfect time. I have no temptation, which could have been catastrophic if I had recoeved this at a time when I wasn't ready. My father handed me an envelope 2 nights ago, briefly explained the circumstances of why me and where it came from, and told me not to breath a word of it to anyone because if the family learns of this than they will turn against us. But it was what my uncle wanted, and he was a very deep and profound person so he had good reason for what he did. Things are just very different right now, I'm still living in my parents house after moving back for my 1 year internship, and I'm ready to start living life again. It's just exciting and overwhelming all at once.

The fact that I have no student loans and am on a career path that is comparable to someone who does, I have no car, no mortgage, no debt whatsoever. It's exhilarating that the world is front of me when so recently i was in such a different place.
