Got my Fold 3 factory screen protector replaced

I was in the same boat but I ended up buying a Fold 4 instead of replacing my screen protector. This sounds insane, but hear me out.

I called a local uBreakiFix to have my screen protector replaced to see if I could come in that day. They told me no, they were busy and to come in two days later and that they don't take appointments. Totally fine. I asked how long and they typically take and the representative said 1 to 4 hours if they can just replace the screen protector or 2 to 3 days if they break the screen. I don't have a back up phone that isn't defective or ancient, but I could survive 3 days if I had to. I said okay and called back when they told me to.

This new employee I spoke to said it would take 2 to 4 weeks to have my entire screen replaced and that they would not replace the screen protector, only the screen. I asked why I was told they could replace the screen protector and the employee kind of sighed. I asked if I removed the screen protector myself, if they'd just put on a new one and they said no because removing the screen protector would void my warranty. (What?) After that, I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to who has maybe done the screen protector replacement. And I didn't say this, but I know that removing the screen protector doesn't void your warranty and this person had no idea what they were talking about so I wanted to speak to someone else. In response I got a pretty rude, "No, is there anything else I can do for you."

I work in customer service and I know how to be polite, I wasn't rude but this person just snapped at me because I guess I insulted them because I asked for someone else to speak to. At this point I gave up and told them nevermind. I had heard about nightmare stories with screen protector replacements but I hadn't even started the process and it was a pain. I didn't want them poking around my phone if they couldn't even have a decent human interaction with me before I handed over what is effectively my life to them. (Everything is on my phone)

I immediately got off the call and ordered a Fold 4. I could've purchased a Whitedome screen protector and done a self replacement or tried another store but since I was already on the fence about upgrading this just pushed me over the edge. I'm going to sell my GW4 and Buds Pro to recoup some costs and walk away with a brand new Fold 4. I wish there was a Samsung Store nearby and then I could've just went to them but uBreakiFix will not be getting my business, even if it doesn't cost me anything.

This was just my experience and maybe (hopefully) others have had better.
