those who chose to stay single - what are your reasons and what impact does it have on your life?

35, male. I was in a steady string of long term relationships throughout my 20s and early 30s. I was fairly miserable in them essentially the whole time, and when I look back on my life so far I see that the periods when I was most productive, happy, and fulfilled were the few months in between relationships. So, when my last relationship ended a couple of years ago I decided to stay single. As a result I'm in the best shape of my life and have had more financial success than I ever thought possible, all while having way more time for hobbies and family. My emotional state is light-years better than it was too, I live stress free and happy.

When I was younger I always wanted to start a family, live in the country and grow old with someone. I still dream about that from time to time, but I'm very happy doing what I'm doing and don't see that changing anytime soon.
