so - Green Ronin is going to get rid of their forums...time to back up anything you like there...

That's kind of a problem in and of itself. The tone of the message is incredibly unprofessional. It sounds hostile, hasty, and self-important, and not what I would expect from a business.

How hard would it be to say, "Unfortunately, Green Ronin no longer has the time or resources available to both run and moderate our private forums up to the standards that we and our community expect and deserve. As a result, we will be closing the forums in the near future. If you would like any material from the forums archived, there is a stickied thread for those requests; we will do our best to accommodate them. If you would like to continue posting with other Green Ronin fans, we recommend [Facebook/Google+/reddit/whatever]. Thank you for all your love and support over the years. Green Ronin would not be what it is without our loyal fans."

Instead, we get something along the lines of "We're shutting the forums. Others have done it so it's fine. I am very upset. I have no interest in moderating; blame the problem users. We'll figure out something else later, I don't know, I haven't thought about it. MAYBE we'll archive things, if you start behaving."
