Ground and Pound: 10 reps each, 4 rounds

Does the statement “people over 30 are more susceptible to injury” strike you as contraversial? You do realize as you get older your body’s resilience and flexibility drops, and wear and tear accumulates, right? Again, is this a foreign concept? Serious question.

Second, the question isn’t “could I” but rather “why would I?” OP is doing this as an exercise in functional, tactical fitness. In practical terms, with lighter weight, I wouldn’t use that movement. It’s an axe chop and you don’t swing an axe like that. At a heavier weight, what am I doing? Proving that I can body slam the limp body of a woman or a child? Why would I do that? You certainly couldn’t do this with an mma fighter in your own weight class. I’m all for things like kettle bells, slam balls, even a mace. But rapidly accelerating a heavy, unstable sand bag bag over your back and then back over your head in a single explosive movement courts shoulder injury.
