You are right, about pressuring kids to go. But for the CP its not a discussion, In some ways I do like Shelly's parenting style rather than Crystal's even though they claim they use the same techniques. Shelly seems to be more open to what the kids want even if it doesn't make sense to her. But Crystal lets her kids do whatever they want. But had I been CP I would encourage my kids to a least try things, find their niche in life. When my kids get to that age where they are talking about college, I would take them on college tours and if they don't like it, then that a conversation as to "what else would you like to do?" Alex, Savannah, Melinda, and Max all said they want to be YouTubers. There's nothing wrong with that, but when Youtube gets old, what do they have to lean back on? Their parents? Crystal herself can attest, she has a real estate licence as well as a cosmetology. Aaron is very talented and skilful with his hands when it comes to building, creating and fixing. When they were in St. John's I felt as if the kids were better. However, now they're in the valley and spoiled rotten and none of the older kids including Melinda are independent. Max has social anxiety because he's always on the game, a lot of them are always on electronics or games. Living with that amount of family I don't see how being social can be an issue. (It's just my opinion). They don't go out with friends like they use to in St. John's the guys or girls are dating (not saying they should or rush into it) but those are what teenagers do. When they were in St. Johns they were doing those things. However, when they came to the valley it slowly stopped. Hannah was a social butterfly, now since Alex left, then Hallie, then Ariana, we all can see her personality has shifted, she's not the same. Notice they don't even hang out with the Crazy Middles as much as they use to. It takes the parents to have outside activities, maybe an obstacle course fun day or something to get the kids out the house. Poor little Savannah, is now stuck to Crystal after the tattoo fiasco. Too many kids in this family over shadows other ones, and the viewers see it.
