Hans clarifies past cheating on Chess.com and unequivocally rejects all other accusations made

Going to sound arrogant/pretentious etc, and I'm also going against the current popular opinion lol, but I've always prided myself on my ability to identify liars. It is one of my few good skills. I am convinced he is lying here.

Why?

Imagine you are innocent of a crime, and someone accuses you of it. How would you feel? Please, imagine it if you can. Because for many people, they would feel fucking pissed off.

I identify not even a flicker of anger here (he is calm and even takes the time to apologise for his incoherence!) He is doing the "explaining game" as I call it - explaining everything in a super calm manner as if he were an objective bystander and not an accused suspect with consequences potentially on the line if he is found guilty. So why is he doing the "explaining game"? Because he cheated. He is not the slightest bit angry because the accusations are true, and so he treats them like an argument he must retort and not an insult he must bash away.

Now let us pretend he is an oddity. He is innocent but for whatever reason didn't respond the way that most people would to the situation. Yet there are still problems... a lot of his statements are in the negative. Rather than saying affirming sentences like "I am innocent", he chooses to say "I have never cheated" etc. (In fact notice how many times he says never). In my personal experience, liars will always opt for negative statements, choosing the simplest way to thwart what they are being accused of because it requires the least amount of effort in the moment. In contrast, it takes no imagination for an innocent person to just say something like "I am innocent" because it is the simple truth - and responding with something like "I didn't cheat" would be an acknowledgement of something they're annoyed has even been thrown their way and so of course they would want to avoid the words their accusers used (like cheat etc.) entirely.

This comment is getting long and no one will read it. There is also something inexplicable about his body language here, and the same was true in yesterday's interview which just reeked of guilt. I actually had to stop watching it as it reminded me so much of myself trying to cover up a similarly big and (if it got found out) destructive lie when I got indirectly confronted by someone.

For me it is as clear as air. I have no idea how he has managed to cheat, though. But fuck man. The fact he's been able to do it at this level, with all the security and checks, is fucking scary.
